Free Vermicompost Lessons
These lessons have been on the internet and offered FREE of charge since 1998. Although the earthworms have not changed since then nor for millions of years prior, there has been a great amount of new information made available. We have updated these lessons to reflect that new information...
AND still offer them Free of charge.
Introduction to free on line vermicomposting lessons. A little about me, my major goals over the years, etc. Meet the teacher thingy.
Lesson 1 Short History, starting first small kit, where to get it, how to set it up, first food, how wet, safe zone, etc.
Lesson 2 Breeding Habits, what earthworm egg capsules look like, when they hatch, how many baby worms, what to check for after one week with your new vermicomposting kit.
Lesson 3 Pests, Bugs and things that are creepy, crawly and scary....OOOOH. BEWARE Fire Ants!
Lesson 4 Wow they are finally starting to eat! What and how much to feed them. How to separate the earthworms in your kit. How to tell when enough worms are in the kit. What to do with the extra worms and vermicompost.
Lesson 5 Introduction to AVSA. This lesson we will recheck our kits and make sure they are doing good. Review what we have learned this far. Learn how AVSA can solve the problem we might have in our kits! Make a scale model of AVSA.
These lessons were intended to be one per week, so that they would progress as your kit grew over a five week period.
