Surviving with Vermicompost
Prepare to Survive
So, You survived now what?
Survival and your freezer
Survival and your pantry/cupboards
 | Have you listened to the news lately? It is filled with one disaster after another, with predictions of even worse to come. What
IF they might be a little right? Are you prepared? Join with me in taking a worst case scenario, but with a slightly
different outcome. We survive! |
 | Worst case scenario:
 | National Major power outage. Backup generators will only run for a short period of time. Gas won't be pumped.
Water companies can't deliver water, sewage removal. Food will spoil from no refrigeration/freezers. NO lights, fans, Air
Conditioning/heating, TVs, Radios or chargers for phones, PCs etc. LOOK around, what do you have that needs electricity in one way or
another? Solutions below. |
 | This list can be expanded by natural disasters that wipe out crops, disrupt our fragile food supply system. Wars, Pestilence,
disease, terrorists, plagues, etc. that will all impact our way of living for months if not years. New Orleans and Katrina are small
wake up calls as to how long it takes to get even close to "back to normal". That is just a small area, compared to the nation.
It will be years before everything starts working again there. |
|
 | I would hate to think that we would survive the initial disaster, then starve to death because of my ignorance or lack of
preparedness. Especially since it only takes a little preparedness to almost guarantee long term survival. |
If the grocery stores were closed for months on end, what would you and your family eat?
 | All that stored, emergency food? It gets old real fast, eating the same thing for months on end, besides not being real
good for you. Wouldn't some fresh veggies be good? |
 | What happens when its gone? When all that stored food is gone, what then? Are your tomatoes, peppers, squash, spinach, etc., up
and ready to harvest? They can be, with just a little forethought and planning. |
 | Can you grow more? YES, if you follow this simple plan. |
Ok, so the lights are out with everything else and will be for a longgggg time, what to do.
